23/06/2023BOLOGNAFIERE GROUP SOLE SHAREHOLDER OF MODENAFIERE. NEW BOARD APPOINTED AND THE NEW CHAIRMAN IS CELSO DE SCRILLI
Bologna 22 June 2022. Today ModenaFair held its shareholders’ meeting to approve the balance sheet for 2022, the appointment of the new board coincided with the election of the new Chairman.
A new season thus begins for Modena’s trade fair organization, with the BolognaFiere Group as its sole shareholder as of today.
As has been announced in recent months, the public partners – the city council, the provincial administration and the Modena Chamber of Commerce – have resolved to exit the share capital of ModenaFiere in order to comply with the “legge Madia” legislation on associated companies.
BolognaFiere has therefore chosen to invest in the recapitalization of the company, providing continuity to the exhibition centre’s trade fair activities, having already held a 51% share in the Modena company.
“Due to the regulatory constraints,” explains the Mayor of Modena, Gian Carlo Muzzarelli, “the city council was not able to take part in the recapitalization, nor were the provincial administration or the Chamber of Commerce. However, although we are no longer shareholders, we will continue to support ModenaFiere to ensure it is fully operational. With the collaboration of BolognaFiere, moreover, as has been outlined in a specific four-year protocol, the Modena exhibition centre will continue to serve as a reference point for promoting local businesses.”
Outgoing Chairman Alfonso Panzani thanked the shareholders, staff and partners of ModenaFiere, “During the 12 years of my mandate I have always enjoyed their active support and I would also like to thank President Calzolari and General Manager Bruzzone for their unwavering loyalty. I wish the new board full success in the promotion and development of the Modena area.”
Antonio Bruzzone, General Manager of the BolognaFiere Group, announced, “the BolognaFiere Group has decided to consolidate its commitment to the Modena site. We decided to appoint a new board, in full agreement with the city council, the provincial administration and the Modena Chamber of Commerce, to demonstrate our attention to, and how much we value, the local area. I would like to thank the outgoing board for their work in these extremely challenging years that have included both an earthquake and a pandemic, and in particular Chairman Alfonso Panzani for the determination and proficiency with which he has led the company.”
On board of ModenaFiere are Ennio Cottafavi and Marco Momoli, who assumes the role of Managing Director and, for the first time, Fabio Pericolini, CFO BolognaFiere Group, engineer Federico Bergami and Celso De Scrilli, who has been elected Chairman.
The new Chairman De Scrilli, already Chairman of the Federalberghi association, declared, “the new board will work so that ModenaFiere can value and boost the exhibition centre. There is already a strong collaboration between Modena and Bologna as a single tourist destination. I am certain that we will be able to work well together for the benefit of the local area.”
