The Joe Strummer Arena, also known as the Parco Nord Arena, is a natural amphitheatre situated within Bologna’s Parco Nord, on Via Stalingrado. Opened in 1987, it is one of the city’s main venues for musical and cultural events. The venue is renowned for hosting concerts of national and international significance, including the famous Independent Days Festival and the recent Sonic Park.

Parco Nord, which covers over 250,000 square metres, is one of Bologna’s largest green spaces. In addition to concerts, it offers venues for trade fairs, funfairs and events such as the traditional Festa dell’Unità, featuring a mix of political debates, musical entertainment and food​.
