Bologna, 31 March 2026
Autopromotec, the leading international biennial exhibition dedicated to automotive equipment and the aftermarket industry, and BolognaFiere, one of Europe’s foremost exhibition organizers and exhibition centre operators worldwide, today—31 March 2026—announced at Casa Autopromotec the renewal of their contractual agreement for the upcoming editions of the event.
This renewed partnership, which confirms the organization of Autopromotec at BolognaFiere’s exhibition centre through 2033, strengthens a long-standing tradition of collaboration and shared values, objectives, and projects that the two organizations have been developing for nearly 60 years.
Founded in Rome in 1965 and organized by Promotec, a service company owned by AIRP (Italian Tyre Retreaders Association) and AICA (Italian Automotive Equipment Manufacturers Association), Autopromotec moved to Bologna in 1967, adopting its biennial format and continuing to grow over the years. This growth is reflected in the results of the latest 2025 edition, which hosted 1,692 exhibiting companies (including 61 represented brands) from 46 countries, covering 165,000 sqm of exhibition space and welcoming 97,348 industry professionals.
Commenting on the renewal, Stefano Carloni, President of AIRP and Promotec, stated:
“In 2027 we will celebrate 60 years of exhibitions in Bologna, and we are therefore pleased to renew our long-standing partnership with BolognaFiere, which has enabled Autopromotec to grow and establish itself as a leading international event.”
Mauro Severi, President of AICA and Vice President of Promotec, added:
“The strength of the automotive sector, which makes it a leading industrial industry at national level, lies in the diverse nature of the thousands of companies that compose it—from manufacturers of equipment, spare parts, and components to service providers. In this context, BolognaFiere serves as the ideal hub for an industrial vocation that has always combined tradition and innovation.”
Gianpiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere, concluded:
“The renewal of the agreement with Promotec for Autopromotec in Bologna until 2033 strengthens a historic partnership and sets both organizations on a path of international growth and innovation. Autopromotec is a benchmark event for the global automotive aftermarket industry and finds in BolognaFiere an ecosystem capable of fully enhancing its potential, thanks to advanced infrastructure, integrated services, and a strong international vocation.”
The 31st edition of the exhibition, scheduled from 26 to 29 May 2027, will be a key opportunity to address the most relevant topics in the automotive sector, with a focus on data management, digitalization, and connected and intermodal mobility.
In this context of innovation, the BolognaFiere hub further confirms itself as the ideal setting to host global industry leaders and stakeholders, making both the city of Bologna and the Emilia-Romagna region a key international hub of interest and attractiveness. Beyond the economic impact generated for the local ecosystem, the next edition of Autopromotec aims to explore solutions that can improve mobility efficiency and positively impact citizens’ daily lives.
